Uses & Application

Designed for general use on sidewalks, entryways, and small parking areas, MeltDown Near Zero contains a medium screened material that quickly penetrates and dissolves snowpack and ice. MeltDown Near Zero can be used in conjunction with or as a replacement for traditional sand/salt de-icing methods. It can be applied with any type of small spreader or by hand. It is packaged into 50 lb., 40 lb. and 25 lb. bags as well as other quantities and containers.

Application Rates:
Typical 50 lb bag – coverage and use should be in a range of 5,000 to 10,000 square feet (555 square yards to 1100 square yards or ¼ of an acre) – actual use will vary by weather conditions, moisture content of the snow, temperature, amount of radiant energy from the sun based on cloudiness level

Performance

MeltDown Near Zero outperforms ordinary salt in speed and efficiency. Effective to 5°F, this product melts ice and snow faster with less product, up to 50% less, than ordinary salt. MeltDown Near Zero’s natural and unique reddish/pink color enables it to use the sun's heat to provide maximum melting strength. It dissolves slowly and stays on the roadway or walkway longer to help prevent freezing of new snow or ice. This all natural product is as safe to handle as ordinary table salt and reduces the impact on the environment.
